Did you know …
…that Lee travels in a VW Beetle which runs on vegetable oil? In the spirit of sustainability, her husband collects used fry oil from local restaurants and then filters it down to be used as fuel on her book tour. Her longest veggie trip to date—2078 miles!
NBC affiliate, WETM did a piece about the veggie-bugs! Watch it here. …Lee went to college to be a zookeeper? She has a lot of funny stories from her days in the zoo and considers zoos a valuable tool in preserving the diversity of life on Earth.
…Lee is an elected official? She ran for City Council in Corning, NY in 2007 and won! She is currently serving a four-year term.
…Lee is a runner? In 2007, she ran as part of a relay team in the Wineglass Marathon; she completed her 8.2 mile leg in 1 hour and 11 minutes! She is planning on running a number of 5 and 10Ks this year as well as the Wineglass.
